Making our voices heard

With ninety five days to go until the midterm elections it's extremely important that we recognize the power of unity.
Congressman Jon Lewis along with many others endured unspeakable horror while fighting for equality.
Collin Kapernick has been attacked for using his platform to shine a light on the issue of police brutality.
Change occurs when noise is generated.
We're all incredibly lucky to live in a country where expressing feelings allows for dialogue to occur.
Remember your voice matters just as much as the next person.
 The moment you feel that something is not right speak up.
Don't be afraid to be different celebrate it.

We're Human Too! OP ED

  Being a person with a Disability, people make a lot of assumptions. For example, I’ve been out to eat with my Family and the Waiter would ask my mom What will she have’’ as oppose to placing a Restaurant Menu in front of me allowing the decision to be mine. Mom and I had a conversation once she said to me You have three strikes against you your Black a Women and Disabled’’ My goal is to humanize this community and uplift us in a way that brings immense pride. The Disabled community has a lot to offer the world which is so easily discounted because of people’s ignorance as well as their lack of engagement with the community. I attended Thornwood High School, while there I took a Global Issues class my teacher told the class Go home read the article and We’ll talk about it tomorrow in class’’ The following day, my teacher asked the class Did anybody read the article? and I was able to provide context regarding the word amputation for my fellow classmates. Don't believe the lies of the Enemy, You're worth it. Hold on, God will guide you through the valley. God Didn't make a mistake with you, nor does He see you as one. Acknowledge this truth, You're a rare gem with unique qualities. Be still and let God move. Don't doubt your God given ability regardless of the lack of visible results.
